Pre-Christmas Donation Made to Alex’s Wish

A very welcome pre-Christmas donation has been received by Alex’s Wish – a parent-led local charity whose mission is to find treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).  DMD is a life-limiting disease which affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born in the UK, it’s 100% fatal and children are unlikely to live beyond their twenties.  Founder of Alex’s Wish, Emma Hallam, started the charity after her son (after whom the charity is named) was diagnosed with DMD at the age of just four.

John and Emma Ghent, Directors at The Property Fox presented a cheque for £500 to Alex’s Wish as well as two other local charities.  The donation represents a portion of their sales fees.  Commenting on the donation John said, “It’s a privilege to help Alex’s Wish fight to get a cure for this awful disease.  Emma and Alex are an absolute inspiration to us all and to be able to support them in this most difficult of years is very humbling.”

Zoe Edwards, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Alex’s Wish commented on the donation saying, “It’s a brilliant Christmas present for the charity to receive and thank you so much to The Property Fox.  Donations like this mean that we can continue funding clinical trials and ensuring clinical trial capacity is available.  One thing we sadly do know is that Duchenne doesn’t stop or slow down even during years like this.  We must continue with our work and donations like these enable us to do exactly that.  Thank you John, Emma and everyone at The Property Fox!  Your donation is very much appreciated.”
